A scholarship for students heading out of state —
funded by those who've done it before.
A Leap Ahead Foundation helps students attend college programs outside their home state by providing scholarships for relocation, housing, and travel. Our flagship award, the A Flight Away Scholarship, provides $2,000 to support students in covering these costs. It is funded by parents and alumni who once left home to chase opportunity — and are now helping others do the same.
What We Do

So we help students take that first step across state lines by:
Offering scholarships to cover out-of-state transition costs
Connecting students with donors who've walked the same path
Building a national community that pays the opportunity forward
Why It Matters
Out-of-state students often face higher tuition, travel, and housing costs — even if they qualify academically. These costs stop thousands from attending their dream school every year. That's where we come in.
We bridge the gap with targeted scholarships funded by people who've been there before — parents and alumni who know how life-changing an out-of-state education can be.
